Turkey’s T625 Gökbey utility helicopter is currently undergoing certification trials, Temel Kotil, CEO and General Manager of Turkish Aerospace, has said.

The six-tonne helicopter made its maiden flight in September 2018. It has been designed and developed by Turkish Aircraft Industries Corporation (TAI) in a project that commenced in 2013.

“The T625 Gökbey helicopter is currently undergoing trials in Turkey,” Kotil told during an interview with  GBP Aerospace and Defence, reports Quwa.

Deliveries of the new helicopter are expected to start in 2021. Its current iteration is powered by two CTS-800-4A turboshaft engines, which are the same type currently powering the T129 ATAK attack helicopter.
