A booby-trapped explosion targeted at coalition forces in Yemen's Aden city on Sunday left an armored vehicle of the Saudi Arabian forces destroyed.

The attack occurred when a convoy of Saudi armored vehicles was on its way from Aden international airport to the headquarters of coalition forces, London-based al-Araby al-Jadeed newspaper reported.

The attack is reportedly the first military action against Saudi-backed forces since they were replaced by Emirati forces in October.

No individual or group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Also on Sunday, an oil pipeline pumping station was attacked in the central Yemeni province of Ma'rib.

Sources told Saudi state news agency (SPA) that Yemeni Houthis are responsible for the attack, an accusation rejected by Yemen.

Hussein al-Ezzi, an official in the capital Sana'a, claimed that the offensive was carried out by Saudi-backed militants.

“Even though our missiles and drones have reached the enemy’s depth and targeted its installations, we have never attacked any national facility inside our country," Spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces Brigadier General Yahya Saree said.
