Russian UAC Sets up Fuselage Panel Specialization Center

Russia’s United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) has set up a Fuselage Panel Specialization Center at its Ulyanovsk-based aircraft plant Aviastar-SP.

The Center will be responsible for producing resources to improve the manufacturing rate of fuselage panels of civilian aircraft such as Il-76MD-90A, Il-112V and Il-114-300.

The project to build the facility is expected to cost 500 million rubles ($6.5 million) and will be completed by 2025, UAC said in a release.

“The Center of Specialization will carry out the entire volume of technological operations for the manufacture of parts, starting from their heat treatment and ending with the final assembly of units,” UAC said.
