Russia’s Advanced Research Foundation will display “Cyclocopter” drone at Army-2020 Forum to be held next month.
Tests of the unmanned aircraft capable of vertical take-off and landing, was concluded recently.
“Recently, the drone demonstrator took to the skies for the first time and the tests confirmed its operational capability and the promising nature of its rotor system,” Andrei Grigoryev, CEO of the Russian company was quoted as saying by TASS Thursday.
The Cyclocopter features better maneuverability, considerably smaller dimensions and shielded rotors, which helps the vehicle operate close to buildings and other obstacles, Grigoryev claimed.
The project to develop a vertical lift and landing drone with cycloidal rotors was approved in late 2018.
