Afghan Military Kills 13 Talib Terrorists in Airstrikes

The Afghan forces today announced they killed 13 Taliban terrorists in airstrikes conducted in Kandahar Province.

The airstrike came after Taliban attacked Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) positions in Panjwae district of Kandahar Province last night, the Afghan Ministry of Defence said in a statement.

The ministry added that a “large amount of Taliban’s weapons and ammunitions were destroyed” in the attack.

On November 2, the MoD said 81 Taliban members were killed and 37 others were wounded in Kandahar Province’s Arghandab district.

The U.S. and Taliban signed an "agreement for bringing peace" to war-torn Afghanistan in February 2020.The U.S. and NATO allies agreed to withdraw all troops from the country within 14 months if Taliban upholds the deal. The Pentagon soon announced it would reduce its forces in Afghanistan to 8,600 and withdraw from five bases.

The group also agreed not to allow al-Qaeda or any other extremist group to operate in the areas they control.
