Russian Nuclear Submarines Construction Period Reduced by 18 Months
Borei-A submarine

Russia’s Sevmash Shipyard has developed a new block-modular method to build nuclear submarines that could reduce the construction period by nearly 18 months.

Specialists from Central design bureaus "Malakhit" and "Rubin", as well as the Center for Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Technologies also worked on the project.

Sevmash is currently the only Russian enterprise that builds fourth-generation nuclear submarines: Project 955 and Project 955A Borei-class and Project 885 Yasen-class boats.

On an average, construction of any submarine takes roughly around 7-8 years.
