L3Harris Technologies has started manufacturing electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) sensor systems at a 2,000-square-meter facility in Katowice, Poland.

The site will supply European operators with intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and targeting sensors for both crewed and autonomous platforms. It is equipped with tooling to produce the EMX-Series line of EO/IR sensor systems designed for missions across multiple domains, including counter-unmanned operations.

According to the company, the facility has the ability to quickly scale production to support Europe’s Readiness 2030 and Security Action for Europe initiatives, which focus on addressing regional security challenges.

The Katowice operation will also provide repair services and product support to accelerate delivery timelines across Europe. A dedicated team of technicians will support multi-sensor capacity and enhance system availability.
