Slovakia is acquiring 17 Israel-made radar systems under a new agreement inked today.
“In a celebratory ceremony held today in Bratislava, the Israeli and Slovak Ministries of Defense signed a first-of-its-kind agreement between the two countries for the procurement of 17 radar systems produced by Israel Aerospace Industries,” the Israel Ministry of Defense tweeted.
The agreement, led by SIBAT in the Israel Ministry of Defense, includes the transfer of technology and knowledge from Israel to Slovakia, as well as industrial cooperation, the ministry added.
IAI’s ELTA Systems manufactures ELM-2084 multi-mission radar (MMR) system. It is deployed by the Israel Defense Force (IDF) and forms part of the Iron Dome anti-missile defense shield. The system will allow air defense units to monitor, track, and intercept airborne targets at altitudes from 100-3,000m.
