Russia’s MiG Corporation said it is equipping its MiG-35 fighter jets with Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered target recognition system.

The MiG-35 Generation 4++ multirole fighter aircraft is further development of MiG-29K/KUB and MiG-29M/M2 airplanes.

The company told government-owned TASS on Sunday that it is working on a system for automated taxiing after landing and on the smart target identification system based on neural networks.

In January, MiG said it developed and patented a system to limit the maximum flight modes of a fighter to prevent it from getting into a tailspin. This system is currently implemented in the MiG-35 and MiG-29M / M2 fighters.

A source revealed to Defenseworld.net last year around this time that Russia is offering MiG-35 equipped with automatic landing and G-force protection systems as its entry for the Indian light fighter jet competition. The new automatic digital landing system allows for easy landing of the jets. It makes difficult weather safer by allowing the pilot to use a glide path in automatic mode quicker, and continue decline till appearance of visibility.
