The roll-out of the first flight model of the Russian S-70 Okhotnik (Hunter) attack drone equipped with a flat jet nozzle for reduced radar visibility took place at the Novosibirsk Aviation Plant (NAZ) recently.

The machine is preparing for tests and the first flight, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexei Krivoruchko told local media today.

"The rollout of the UAV completes the assembly of the product, equipping it with all the necessary on-board equipment in preparation for its comprehensive ground tests and first flight," Krivoruchko said.

Krivoruchko during a working trip to Novosibirsk supervised the roll-out of the first flight model of the Okhotnik, and also inspected the process of assembly production of the second flight copy.

The production of the newest Russian attack drone S-70 "Okhotnik" requires a full cycle of development and testing of all components; it cannot be assembled from parts available on the market, like many foreign drones. In a number of parameters the "Okhotnik" is superior to a few foreign counterparts," added Krivoruchko.

The Okhotnik attack unmanned aerial vehicle was developed at the Sukhoi Design Bureau. Its length is 14 meters, wingspan is 19 meters, take-off weight is more than 20 tons. The drone was made according to the "flying wing" scheme with the use of materials that reduce radar signature.

The Okhotnik drone can work independently or in a swarm of drones. It can be paired with the Su-57 stealth jet as a loyal wingman.
