A top Ukrainian military official has claimed that one of the Russian Su-34 fighters was shot down on Wednesday.
Ukrainian Air Force Command spokesman Yurii Ihnat posted on Facebook that anti-aircraft missile units managed to destroy a hostile cruise missile in the Dnipropetrovsk and a Su-34 fighter-bomber in the Kharkiv.
"Data sourced from the intercepted radio exchange show that the engine of the Russian (Su-34) aircraft caught fire and the pilots catapulted!" he said.
He also said Ukrainian jets destroyed about 20 armored vehicles and ammunition, and that they killed several Russian soldiers.
Kyiv says it managed to eliminate several Russian equipment- 204 aircraft, 1257 tanks, 95 anti-aircraft warfare systems, 465 drones, and more.
