Britain’s new package of military aid to Ukraine worth $1.3 billion will include long-range artillery, shore-to-ship missiles and drones, Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced Thursday.
Johnson announced the aid package following a conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
“I updated the President on support flowing to Ukraine’s defence, including long-range artillery, shore-to-ship missiles and unmanned drones. This is part of our additional £1.3 billion military aid package for Ukraine,” Johnson said.
On May 7, Britain said that it would spend an extra £1.3 billion on military, economic and humanitarian support for Ukraine. Earlier, Johnson said that this package of aid would include radio-electronic warfare means, including GPS signal jamming equipment, counter-battery radars and night vision instruments.
Ukraine’s ground forces have earlier received Brimstone missiles from London. The latter also wants to supply heavy lift drones for delivering supplies to troops.
