All-Drone Ukrainian Assault on Snake Island Led by Bayraktar TB-2s Repelled: Russian MoD

Ukraine’s airstrike on Snake Island using 15 strike and reconnaissance drones including two Turkish-made Bayraktar TB2s was effectively repelled by the Russian forces, its defense ministry has claimed.

Igor Konashenkov, spokesman for the Russian MoD, said during a regular press conference today that they spotted a RQ-4 Global Hawk operated by the U.S. Air Force flying at high-altitude near the Snake Island.

Konashenkov alleged none of the weapons fired by Ukrainian drones managed to reach their targets in the island. “As a result of an unsuccessful fire defeat, the enemy was forced to abandon the landing on the island,” Russian state media reported.

As per official data released by Moscow, over 1,241 Ukrainian drones have been destroyed since February 24, the day it launched a military offensive against Ukraine.
