Precision-guided missiles fired by the Russian Navy reportedly left two British Harpoon coastal missile systems in the Odessa region destroyed.
"Sea-based high-precision weapons near the settlement of Liman, Odesa region, destroyed two installations of the Harpoon coastal missile system delivered from the UK," Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said at a briefing on Friday.
In June, the Ukrainian military released a video showing Harpoon missiles slamming into Russian Black Sea Fleet’s Project 22870 rescue tug Vassily Bekh, causing it to erupt in a fireball. The vessel was allegedly carrying ammunition, weapons and personnel to reinforce Russian troops on the Snake Island. The incident is said to have prompted Russia to withdraw its forces from the island.
