The United Kingdom could soon sign a contract for 513 Javelin missile launchers worth approximately $300 million.
On Monday, the State Department greenlit the sale of Javelin Lightweight Command Launch units to Britain. The principal contractor would be the Javelin Joint Venture, a joint venture of Lockheed Martin and Raytheon Technologies, the Pentagon said.
Javelin is an anti-tank guided munition that can be carried and launched by a single person. It is a medium-range, “fire-and-forget” missile for use against a wide array of targets including armored vehicles, bunkers and caves.
