Russia’s Ministry of Defense has published footage its warships patrolling the Pacific Ocean with ships of the Chinese Navy.
The crews will have to work out joint tactical maneuvering and organization of communication between the ships of the group. They will also conduct a series of exercises with practical artillery firing and provide deck helicopter flights, the MoD said.
The tasks of patrolling include strengthening naval cooperation between Russia and China, maintaining peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region, monitoring the sea area, as well as protecting the objects of maritime economic activity of the Russian Federation and China.
Russian Navy ships involved in the patrols include Pacific Fleet’s frigate Marshal Shaposhnikov, Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov Steregushchiy-class corvette, as well as the medium sea tanker Pechenga.
From the PLA Navy, the destroyer Nian Chang, the patrol ship Yang Chen and the complex supply vessel Dong Pinghu are involved in patrolling.
