Belgium could soon place an order for AMRAAM missiles to arm the Air Force’s F-16 and F-35 fighter jets.
On Tuesday, the U.S. State Department approved the sale of AIM-120C-8 Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAM) and related equipment to Belgium for a total estimated cost of $380 million.
The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale today.
This contract would allow Belgium to buy incrementally up to 120 AMRAAM missiles and 10 AMRAAM C-8 Guidance Sections. It covers provision of all related support and equipment.
