Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani rejected a report by the Wall Street Journal which claimed that the country was building a drone factory in Russia’s Tatarstan.
"Arms exporters and war mongers are out to justify their unilateral actions and miscalculations in war planning by falsifying the news," he replied to a request from Mehr news agency for a comment. "This is fake news. The countries that are the largest suppliers of weapons and equipment to one of the parties to conflict have been trying to mislead world public opinion by spreading fake news. The Islamic Republic of Iran does not take sides in the conflict and it has no intention to do so. Its goal is to promote a political solution."
Citing officials, WSJ said than an Iranian delegation visited Russia’s Tatarstan to inspect a site for the alleged factory in early January. The plant will be able to produce 6,000 drones for Russia, the report claimed.
