TCG Anadolu Amphibious Assault Ship

Turkey's Amphibious Assault Ship, TCG Anadolu, which can carry drones, light aircraft and helicopters was today inducted as the flagship of the Turkish Navy.
The ship, which was launched in May 2019, started sea acceptance tests as of June 2022 and was delivered to the Naval Forces Command with a ceremony attended by President Erdoğan today .
The ship will carry a complement of unmanned attack and reconnaissance drones such as the Bayraktar TB3 and the T129 manned helicopters. In addition, it can ferry tanks, armored vehicles an combat troops.
Studies are underway to enable the KIZILELMA Unmanned Combat Aircraft, and the HÜRJET Light Attack Aircraft to land and take off. After the TB3 SİHA, KIZILELMA and HÜRJET platforms have made their first flights in 2023, it is planned to start the integration work on the ship.
TCG Anadolu has the capacity to transfer a batallion-sizeforce of at least 1 battalion size in the Aegean, Mediterranean and Black Seas to the crisis region with its own logistics support, without requiring home base support.
