Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) is planning to shift its focus on HÜRKUŞ-2 combat trainer production as it has exhausted stocks of HÜRKUŞ aircraft.
This was reported by SavunmaSanayiST.com today.
TAI exported all HÜRKUŞ platforms in its possession to various countries and does not currently have any aircraft for sale. The company will focus on developing HÜRKUŞ-2.
HÜRKUŞ has already been delivered to Niger; and Chad and Libya will soon join the list of HÜRKUŞ users.
14 HÜRKUŞ produced by TAI were exported with the permission of the Turkish Air Force. For the moment, the first user of HÜRKUŞ's newly developed model, HÜRKUŞ 2, will be the Turkish Air Force.
A total of 15 aircraft were manufactured by TAI upon the order of the Turkish Air Force.
TAI General Manager Prof. Dr. Temel Kotil announced that the cost of 2 HÜRKUŞ planes is €50 million.
