South Korea's Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) awarded a local firm $66.5 million (86.7 billion-won) laser designators designed to aid combat aircraft's precision strike operations.
The company, Hancom Lifecare Inc., will produce the ground-based equipment based on technological cooperation with two U.S.-based companies - L3Harris and Leonardo DRS.
A laser designator is used to designate a hostile target to aid precision strike missions, involving guided munitions.
