Saudi Arabia’s order for Turkey-made Akinci combat drones is valued nearly $3 billion, a top Turkish official hinted on Tuesday.
Drone manufacturer Baykar Defense said it signed its “biggest ever export contract” with Riyadh on July 18, but did not disclose the contract’s value or any information on how many drones will be delivered to the Middle Eastern country.
Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün, President of the Turkish Presidency of Defense Industry, was quoted as saying by SavunmaSanayiST.com today that the value of the “biggest Turkish defense industry export, made at one time, is over $3 billion.”
Although the details of the contract are not known yet, it was announced by BAYKAR General Manager Haluk Bayraktar that exports are related to AKINCI TİHA.
