French Photonis Group Renamed to Exosens

French firm, PHOTONIS GROUP, which specializes in differentiated technology for detection, imaging, and lighting, is currently undergoing a corporate rebranding initiative and will henceforth be known as Exosens.

The company, under the ownership of Groupe HLD since 2021, is undergoing a profound transformation by venturing into adjacent technologies and expanding into the particle detection markets. It has successfully acquired four companies (Xenics, Proxivision, Telops, and Elmul) since December 2022.

Exosens presents a comprehensive range of electro-optic devices, encompassing the entire optical spectrum from UV to LWIR, along with electron, ion, neutron, and gamma detectors. The company caters to four primary sectors: life sciences, industrial control, nuclear energy, and defense. Exosens is strategically positioned to leverage the favorable trends in each of these four verticals, including heightened demand for advanced diagnostics, the proliferation of factory automation, the deployment of small modular reactors, and the increase in defense budget allocations.

Jérôme Cerisier, the CEO of this newly rebranded entity, eloquently expressed, "Exosens signifies 'detecting, perceiving, and attributing meaning to the beyond.' This concept perfectly encapsulates our core mission: we unveil the imperceptible, perceive the world to enhance safety. With Exosens, our objective is to instill our shared values throughout the entire organization, integrate new companies and colleagues seamlessly, and consistently deliver high-performance products to ensure customer satisfaction."

From an operational standpoint, the legal entities will maintain their current names. The four distinguished product brands—Photonis (specializing in intensified products, nuclear technologies, and mass spectrometry detectors), Xenics (renowned for its expertise in infrared sensors and cameras), Elmul (dedicated to electron detection solutions), and Telops (a leader in hyperspectral and cooled infrared camera technologies)—will continue to be actively deployed and promoted in their respective market segments.
