Thales has completed its acquisition of Tesserent, a cybersecurity firm based in Australia.
The acquisition, initially announced in June 2023, has solidified Thales's position in the cybersecurity sector, furthering its commitment to enhancing global cyber defenses.
Tesserent had a 2022 turnover of A$185 million (approximately €110 million) and a workforce of around 500 employees spread across nine offices. The company provides a comprehensive range of cybersecurity solutions and services to medium and enterprise-level organizations.
This strategic partnership between Thales and Tesserent is expected to have a significant impact on cybersecurity capabilities in Australia and New Zealand.
Thales has also announced its intention to acquire Imperva, a U.S.-based data and application cybersecurity company in July 2023. The company expects to generate revenues exceeding €2.4 billion from cybersecurity activities in 2024.
Thales offers three core cybersecurity categories: Global Security Products (cloud protection and licensing solutions), Sovereign Protection Products (encryptors and sensors), and a comprehensive range of Cybersecurity Services within its Cybels portfolio, including threat assessments, training, simulation, detection, response, and integration, with Tesserent as a key element.
