Turkey's DEARSAN Shipyard Launches Patrol Vessel for Nigerian Navy

Turkey’s DEARSAN shipyard has launched the first 76m Offshore Patrol Ship for the Nigerian Navy in a ceremony held today.

DEARSAN will construct a total of 2 such ships for Nigeria.

The Offshore Patrol Ship measures 76.9 meters in length, 11.9 meters in width, and has a draft of 3.6 meters. It boasts a maximum speed of 28 nautical miles, a range of 2,500 nautical miles, and a 16-day sea endurance. This vessel will be operated by a crew of 48 and features a CODAD propulsion system. It's equipped to handle sea state 5 and sail in sea state 6. Armament includes a 40mm gun, a 30mm gun, a Remote Controlled Gun, and two 12.7mm Machine Guns.

Additionally, it's equipped with advanced radar, communication systems, and a battle management system for reconnaissance and surveillance tasks.
