The Swedish Army has formally received the inaugural shipment of Patria's six-wheeled armored vehicles, known as "Pansarterrängbil 300" in Sweden.
These vehicles, produced in Finland, are set to play a pivotal role in the ongoing expansion efforts of the Swedish Armed Forces.
The new additions to Sweden's military fleet will be stationed at the Livgardet regiment, located in Kungsängen, just outside Stockholm, as well as at various strategic points further south within the country. The official hand-over ceremony, commemorating the successful delivery of these vehicles, took place at the Ground Combat School in Kvarn on the 26th of October, 2023.
These Patria 6x6 armored vehicles are already operational in Finland and Latvia. Notably, Germany has also become a part of the Patria 6x6-based Common Armored Vehicle System (CAVS) program.
The Patria 6×6 (Patria XA-300) is a Finnish-made armored personnel carrier with a six-wheel configuration based on the Patria AMVXP chassis. It boasts a service life of over 30 years and is primarily designed for troop transport but can be adapted for various roles through optional features such as a swimming system, winch, enhanced armor, and various weapon systems, including machine guns and 25/30 mm medium caliber direct fire weapons, as well as the Patria Nemo 120 mm turreted mortar system.
