Yemen Releases Video of Shooting Down U.S. MQ-9 Drone

Yemeni Armed Forces aired video footage on Wednesday evening, showcasing the interception of an American MQ-9 drone, which they claimed was involved in hostile and surveillance activities in Yemeni territorial waters.

The thermal images captured the drone's hostile maneuvers above Yemen's waters, targeted by a surface-to-air missile, resulting in ignition and downing.

Yemen’s statement emphasized their legitimate right to defend the country and conduct military operations against the Zionist regime, supporting the Palestinian cause.

Despite these maneuvers, Yemen said it remains committed to its operations in Gaza. The Yemeni Army has carried out several military operations against Israeli targets.

Mohammed Abdulsalam, the Ansarullah spokesman, stated that the successful interception of the American aircraft in Yemeni waters underscores the readiness of the Armed Forces to counter any operations “violating national sovereignty.”
