U.A.E.’s EDGE, Turkey’s Roketsan to Develop Smart Weapons

U.A.E.’s state-owned EDGE and Roketsan, a Turkish company specializing in rockets, missiles, and weapon systems, inked a strategic agreement on smart weapons development.

The partnership aims to delve into potential collaborations within the smart weapons domain, with a focus on joint development.

Under the agreement, both entities will work closely to explore opportunities for the advancement of new and advanced smart weapon technologies.

The scope of strategic partnerships includes the joint development of guided artillery, missiles, torpedoes, and associated subsystems.

This agreement marks the latest in a series of bilateral engagements between EDGE and Türkiye’s defense industry. In October 2023, EDGE signed a strategic cooperation agreement with SAHA Istanbul, representing over 1,000 Turkish defense companies, to deepen cooperation between the U.A.E. and Türkiye.

EDGE is also establishing a dedicated office named MALATH to catalyze new business engagements between EDGE and SAHA companies, furthering U.A.E.-Türkiye cooperation in advanced technology and defense sectors.
