The State Department has authorized a Foreign Military Sale (FMS) to the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) for Stinger missiles and associated equipment with an estimated value of $780 million.
The Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) formally notified Congress of this determination today.
The NSPA, acting as the Lead Nation on behalf of Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands, has formally requested the acquisition of 940 FIM-92K Stinger Block I Missiles, the DSCA said.
The proposed sale also includes Battery Coolant Units (BCU), metal containers, U.S. Government and contractor production, technical, and engineering assistance, along with other logistical and program support components.
The proposed sale, facilitated by prime contractors Raytheon and Lockheed Martin, does not involve any offset agreements.
