The Singapore Airshow 2024 witnessed the international debut of China's Z-10ME attack helicopter.

The state-owned Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) showcased a range of military and civilian aircraft at the Changi Exhibition Center including fighters, transport aircraft, helicopters, trainers, drones, special operations aircraft, and emergency rescue aircraft.

Among the displayed aircraft were scaled models of advanced Chinese military technology, such as the J-20 stealth fighter jet, Y-20 large transport plane, Z-20 utility helicopter, GJ-11 stealth attack drone, FC-31 stealth fighter jet, J-10CE fighter jet, JF-17 fighter jet, L-15A combat trainer jet, KJ-500 early warning aircraft, Y-9E tactical transport aircraft, and the Wing Loong series drones.

However, the Z-10ME attack helicopter, developed independently by China, took center stage with the display of a genuine aircraft at the airshow. The Z-10ME is touted for its medium-sized multirole capabilities, including flight performance, firepower, survivability, and reliability, as highlighted by AVIC. The upgraded version showcased at the event features additional armor and sensors, purportedly increasing its survival rate on the battlefield.

“Displaying the Z-10ME with a genuine aircraft at the Singapore Airshow shows that China attaches great importance to this aircraft, and sees it as a key product to promote on the international market,” Chinese military expert Zhang Xuefeng was quoted as saying by Chinese state mediaon Tuesday.

A genuine aircraft will allow potential clients to have closer interactions, Zhang said, noting that the Z-10ME is one of the most powerful medium-sized attack helicopters in the world with excellent comprehensive capabilities.
