EDGE Group-Indra Establish Joint Venture to Develop Radars

U.A.E.’s EDGE Group has officially established a Joint Venture (JV) with Spain’s Indra Sistemas (Indra) to undertake the development and production of next-generation radar systems within the U.A.E.

The formal agreement was executed on Monday.

Signed in Madrid by EDGE Managing Director & CEO, Hamad Al Marar, and Jose Vicente de los Mozos, CEO of Indra, the agreement outlines the collaborative efforts of the new Abu Dhabi-based JV in designing and manufacturing radar systems in the U.A.E.

This partnership is anticipated to generate a substantial influx of orders, with approximately 300 advanced radar solutions in the pipeline. The newly-formed entity will be granted primary rights for both current and prospective non-NATO and non-EU orders designated for Indra.

Specifically, the focus of the JV will be on targeting unexplored and fragmented non-NATO markets outside of the European Union. EDGE is poised to contribute its commercial acumen and technological foundations, while Indra will bolster the joint venture's capabilities by transferring technology and relocating certain engineering, commercial, and manufacturing functions to the collaborative enterprise.
