The Spanish government has awarded Rheinmetall a contract worth approximately €208 million to supply 94,200 155mm artillery rounds.
Delivery to the Spanish army is scheduled between late 2024 and late 2025, with an option for a two-year extension.
The ER02A1 high-explosive projectiles, capable of reaching up to 30 kilometers in the boat-tail variant and nearly 40 kilometers in the base-bleed variant, are part of the order. These rounds are already in use by Spain.
Rheinmetall recently marked the commencement of construction for a new facility in Unterlüß, Lower Saxony, Germany, dedicated to producing explosives, rocket artillery components, and artillery ammunition.
