Kosovo's Defense Minister, Ejup Maqedonci, announced at the 20th Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine meeting in Germany that Kosovo would provide two military aid packages to Ukraine.
The aid includes mortar rounds, trucks, and armored vehicles, demonstrating Kosovo's solidarity with Ukraine in its struggle against Russian aggression. Maqedonci confirmed the delivery of a second aid package comprising additional mortar shells via Twitter.
This marks the first time a partially recognized state has extended military assistance to Ukraine. The first aid package, consisting of trucks and armored vehicles, is set to arrive in Ukraine within a week. Kosovo's support for Ukraine aligns with its condemnation of Russia's invasion, alongside its backing of EU sanctions against Russia.
Germany also pledged significant assistance, with Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announcing a €500 million allocation for ammunition purchases and the transfer of 10,000 artillery munitions from Germany's military inventory to Ukraine, aiming to meet its immediate needs.
