Rheinmetall Starts Training Mechanics for F-35A Aircraft Fuselage Plant

Rheinmetall is advancing its F-35A program by commissioning AERO-Bildungs GmbH to train production mechanics for the F-35A's center fuselage section in Weeze.

AERO-Bildungs GmbH, specializing in aviation technical training, will help plan and implement training for Rheinmetall's F-35A program in Weeze. This collaboration will build on skills learned at Northrop Grumman in the USA and facilitate knowledge transfer to other employees. A dedicated training and competence center in Weeze, in cooperation with Rheinmetall trainers, will ensure sustainable knowledge building and ongoing employee qualification.

The commissioning of AERO-Bildungs GmbH in April 2024 marks the first step in further integrating German companies into the F-35A supply chain at Weeze.

Rheinmetall, commissioned by Northrop Grumman to produce at least 400 F-35A center fuselage sections in 2023, is developing infrastructure in Weeze, North Rhine-Westphalia. The production facility is expected to be completed by spring 2025, with production starting in summer 2025.
