BAE Systems will showcase the CV90MkIV Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV) with a new turret at Eurosatory 2024, scheduled to be held this month in Villepinte near Paris from June 17-21.
This configuration will soon be delivered to Slovakia and the Czech Republic, in close cooperation with their defence industries.
The CV90MkIV IFV represents the most recent evolution of the CV90 family of vehicles. It will provide crews and soldiers with increased mobility, protection, and lethality as well as improved combat awareness.
With a new engine, the MkIV boasts up to 1,000 horsepower and the latest upgraded X300 heavy-duty transmission. The Gross Vehicle Weight Rating is increased from 35 tonnes to 38 tonnes, offering users three tonnes of extra payload without a decrease in vehicle agility. The CV90 will be the first Western IFV with a qualified Active Protection System.
In February, Sweden and Denmark announced the joint production of 35 CV9035NL infantry fighting vehicles for Ukraine. Denmark will fund, and Sweden will build. This $9-million, 37-ton IFV will be the only one in Ukraine with stabilized thermal vision for its commander.
