Denmark has tested the Precise & Universal Launching System (PULS), on Danish soil for the first time, today.

The test occurred at 10:05 AM at the Oksbøl Shooting and Training Range, where the PULS system fired its first rocket approximately 10 kilometers into the North Sea. The rocket, which was non-explosive, landed as planned, the ministry said in an official release.

Months of preparation and training preceded today's launch, marking the culmination of efforts since the arrival of the first PULS systems in Denmark about a year ago. Danish Army soldiers and technicians from the Ministry of Defence's Material and Procurement Agency (FMI) collaborated closely with Elbit Systems, the system's supplier, to integrate and train with the PULS system.

The test firings, conducted throughout the day, also served to measure noise levels and smoke emissions generated by the PULS system.

Lieutenant Colonel Henrik Hvilsom from FMI said the rockets were fired just nine days after their arrival in Denmark.

The PULS autonomous artillery rocket system is expected to be operational by 2026. It offers a solution for launching a range of rockets and missiles for precise targeting. It is adaptable to existing platforms, providing firing flexibility without requiring modifications to the system. The system eliminates the need to relocate artillery units to match desired firing ranges and can launch multiple ammunition types from a single position, with firing capabilities extending up to 300km. PULS incorporates specialized PODS for launching various rockets, including Accular 122mm and 160mm rockets, EXTRA rockets, and Predator Hawk rockets, catering to diverse operational requirements. The system's rapid firing capability allows for quick initiation and execution of firing missions, typically taking less than a minute.
