L3Harris Technologies has signed an agreement with Air India to become lead supplier of the SRVIVR25 Voice and Data Recorders for the airline’s B737-8 fleet.
One hundred aircraft will be equipped with L3Harris' technology - with the possibility of an additional forty planes.
The deal, finalized in April 2024, is the first avionics partnership between L3Harris and Air India since the latter came under the ownership of the Tata Group and expands the relationship between the two companies, with L3Harris also providing pilot training to Air India’s current and future pilots.
The comprehensive SRVIVR25 line features various models tailored to airline needs: from stand-alone Cockpit Voice Recorders (CVR) and Flight Data Recorders (FDR), to combined units and even deployable solutions. Notably, these devices present an eco-friendly option with their Underwater Locator Beacon (ULB), support automated distress tracking and facilitate the timely recovery of flight data.
Between 2025 to 2028, L3Harris will deliver recorders for the initial slot of one hundred aircraft. The contingent forty are slated for post-2028 fulfilment.
