Polish, U.S., Industries Sign Contract to Manufacture 48 Patriot Launchers in Poland

A contract for the production of a total of 48 Patriot air and missile defense system launchers has been signed between Raytheon Polska and Huta Stalowa Wola for the production of 48 M903 launchers in Poland, according to savunmasanayist.

The M903 launchers, which are a part of the Patriot air defense system. According to the contract, a total of 48 M903 Patriot air defense system missile launchers will be produced at the Stalowa Wola factory in Poland. All of the missile launchers are expected to be delivered to the Polish Army between 2027 and 2029, with Polish officials reporting that the total value of the contract is $1.23 billion.

Poland wanted to procure the Patriot PAC-3 MSE air and missile defense missile system from the United States in 2023. The Washington administration approved the sale of Patriot systems on June 29, 2023.

The contract signed today also means the finalization of the production of missile launchers in the agreement made last year. Huta Stalowa Wola will also continue its technical support to the Polish Army by establishing centers at the factory that will serve as service, maintenance and repair for M903 launchers.

Following the signing ceremony, Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz said, "This agreement strengthens Poland's security. US-Polish relations have never been better." Poland has been drawing attention with its increased defense investments, especially following the start of the Ukraine-Russia war.
