MD Helicopters LLC (MDH) has signed a five-year, $19 million contract with the Saudi Arabian National Guard (SANG) to provide comprehensive support for the maintenance and operation of its MD530F helicopter fleet.
The agreement covers spare parts supply, repair and overhaul services, and in-country technical and logistical support for SANG’s 12 MD530F helicopters used in flight training.
The contract includes a base year with four additional option years. As part of the agreement, MDH will station a field service representative and logistics technician in Saudi Arabia to manage fleet maintenance and parts logistics. In addition to the provision of personnel, the contract guarantees the delivery of aircraft materials to ensure the fleet's continued readiness.
Previously, an in-country contractor handled the maintenance of SANG’s MD530F fleet. However, the Saudi Arabian National Guard has now opted for direct support from the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) to enhance maintenance quality and ensure better access to necessary materials.
Under the new contract, MDH will focus on improving maintenance efficiency, reducing parts acquisition costs, and minimizing aircraft downtime. The immediate deployment of MDH staff and the delivery of over $1 million in spare parts, expected this month, are part of the initial phase of the agreement. This collaboration aims to enhance SANG’s operational responsiveness and availability for its missions across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
