Paramount Group today announced the delivery of its Maatla 4x4 Light Protected Multi-Mission Border Patrol Vehicle to the Ghanaian Ministry of Interior, during the African Aerospace and Defence Expo (AAD 2024) in Tshwane, South Africa.

The introduction of the Maatla LPV, meaning "Power" in Setswana, aligns with the Interior Ministry’s efforts to strengthen their border patrol and overarching defence operations, emboldening the country’s existing national security apparatus in the face of increasing security threats impacting the greater Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

The Maatla LPV features advanced technology and reconfigurability, designed for internal security and border patrol operations. Its "Smart Floor" technology allows the vehicle's seating to be quickly removed and adapted for various tasks, including policing, border patrol, ambulance services, command and control, military support, and peacekeeping missions, covering roles from reconnaissance to logistics and medical evacuation.

The Maatla offers STANAG Level 1 ballistic protection, with options for additional armor upgrades, designed to protect up to eight personnel in challenging environments. The platform includes a high-performance engine, a 2-speed transfer case, and 3 differential locks, providing mobility on both rugged and urban terrains.

The Maatla can reach speeds of up to 100 km/h, with a cruising range of 600 km at 80 km/h, and a fording depth of 750 mm without preparation. It operates in temperatures ranging from -10°C to +55°C without requiring special modifications.
