Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace (KONGSBERG) has signed an agreement with the Norwegian Defence Materiel Agency (NDMA) to upgrade the combat systems on Norway's Ula-class submarines.

The contract, valued at approximately NOK 436 million ($48 million), involves both software and hardware updates to extend the operational lifespan of the Ula-class submarines.

KONGSBERG, which originally supplied the combat systems for the Ula-class, has previously conducted upgrades on these submarines. This latest program is designed to maintain their operational capability until the new 212CD-class submarines are introduced in the 2030s.

KONGSBERG is also involved in supplying the combat systems for the 212CD submarines, which will be delivered to both Norway and Germany.
