Teledyne FLIR Defense has secured two five-year contracts worth up to $47 million to supply and support ground robots for the U.S. government.
Awarded by the U.S. Army Contracting Command in Detroit, these contracts will be managed by the Robot Logistics Support Center.
The first contract, worth up to $32 million, will support the sustainment of the Man-Transportable Robotic System (MTRS) and Common Robotic Systems-Heavy (CRS-H) for all Department of Defense units, including spares and repair services.
The second contract, valued at up to $15 million, will sustain the FLIR Defense FirstLook 110, SUGV 310, PackBot, and Kobra 725 robots for all U.S. government agencies, covering purchases, training, and foreign military sales.
The two contracts cover nearly the entire range of FLIR Defense’s unmanned ground systems, from the six-pound throwable FirstLook to the man-portable PackBot, used by the military for bomb disposal since 2001, and up to the 525-pound Kobra/CRS-H robot, utilized for remote CBRN detection and heavy-duty tasks.
Funding will be provided with each delivery order, and both contracts have a five-year performance period, including three base years and two option years.
