PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) has signed a Cooperation Agreement with the Indonesian Air Force Materiel Maintenance Command (Koharmatau) for the maintenance and upgrade of the Indonesian Air Force's C-130 Hercules aircraft.

The agreement signed on October 2 aims to enhance the capabilities of both parties in maintaining these aircraft.

The agreement includes provisions for the Center Wing Box Replacement (CWBR) and Avionic Upgrade Program (AUP) for nine C-130 Hercules units. Maintenance will be carried out at the PTDI Aircraft Services Hangar, with the first aircraft set to begin the induction process at Depohar 10 in October 2024, before moving to PTDI for further work in November 2024. The CWBR and AUP processes are estimated to take five and six months, respectively.

The collaboration involves the use of human resources, training for personnel on C-130 maintenance, utilization of special tools and equipment, and the use of PTDI Bonding & Composite facilities. Both PTDI and Koharmatau intend to mutually improve their competence in managing the C-130 aircraft, which is considered a critical asset for the Indonesian Air Force.
