IDF Claims Killing 250 Hezbollah Operatives as Lebanon Death Toll Tops 2,000

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have claimed to have killed 250 Hezbollah operatives amid ongoing airstrikes, as Lebanon's death toll surpasses 2,000.

According to an IDF statement, "Over the last 4 days, the IDF has eliminated 2,000+ military targets and 250 Hezbollah terrorists. Among them are 5 battalion commanders, 10 company commanders, and 6 platoon commanders."

The IDF also confirmed that the Israeli Air Force is conducting preemptive strikes in southern Lebanon as part of intelligence-based operations.

Overnight strikes by Israel continued to target the southern suburbs of Beirut, with Lebanon's Health Ministry reporting more than 2,000 fatalities across the country, including 127 children and 261 women.

Hamas has announced the death of Saeed Atallah Ali, the head of its military wing, known as the "Al-Qassam Brigades" in Lebanon. He was killed earlier tonight along with his family in an Israeli precision airstrike targeting his apartment in the Beddawi Refugee Camp, located in the Tripoli District of northwestern Lebanon.

During a visit to Beirut, Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned Israel that any attack on Iran would lead to a response "stronger than the previous one."

In Gaza, the death toll since October 2023 has risen to 41,802, with 96,844 people injured in ongoing Israeli strikes. In Israel, at least 1,139 people were killed in the initial Hamas-led attacks on October 7, with over 200 individuals still held captive.

In a separate incident, Hamas confirmed that its commander in Tulkarem was killed during an Israeli airstrike on the occupied West Bank refugee camp, which resulted in the deaths of at least 18 people.
