Russian forces have destroyed a container ship from Europe that was unloading ammunition for the Ukrainian Armed Forces that arrived from Europe in the Yuzhny port near Odessa.
A missile fired from an Iskander operational-tactical missile system scored a direct hit causing the ammunition in the ship to explode, the Defense Ministry said on Sunday.
"The Iskander-M OTRK crew of the Russian Armed Forces launched a missile strike on the unloading site of a container ship with ammunition in the Yuzhny port of the village of Noviye Belyary in Odessa Oblast," the statement said.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the vessel delivered a batch of ammunition and weapons to the port of Odessa region from Europe.
Official footage released shows the detonation of ammunition and the destruction of the vessel.
