France Seeks Local Production, Maintenance Centres for Equipment Delivered to Ukraine

A dozen industrialists from the French Land and Air-Land Defense and Security Industries Group (GICAT) were in Ukraine the past week to work setting up maintenance centers for equipment already delivered to Ukraine.

As part of the second (French) defense industry forum in Kyiv, they discussed developing local production of equipment. French companies represented at the event included Arquus, KNDS, Thales, Cerbair, MBDA, Safran, Dixi Microtechniques and Sofema, the Director General Armaments (DGA) said in a statement

The General Engineer of Armament (IGA) Thierry Carlier spoke at a round table "Defense industry in the wartime : partner perspectives" to recall the effort conducted within the framework of the war economy, aimed at increasing industrial production capacities, particularly for the benefit of Ukraine (CAESAR, AASM, Mistral).

He also confirmed France's desire to promote industrial partnerships between French and Ukrainian companies. Carloier also met with the Ukrainian First Deputy Minister, General Havryliuk, to discuss the various deliveries of equipment to Ukraine.

Carloier visited two Ukrainian defense companies: UkrSpecSystems, a manufacturer of drones and KBTZ, a repairer of heavy tanks and armored vehicles.
