France will supply Kiev with a batch of Mirage 2000 fighters upgraded to carry new air-to-ground weapons, Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu posed on his X account today.
According to him, the combat vehicles will be handed over to the Ukrainian Armed Forces in January-March 2025.
Kiev will also receive new batches of SCALP EG cruise missiles and AASM Hammer guided air bombs besides a an electronics warfare upgrade to the aircraft to match current battle conditions in the war with Russia.
It can also be assumed that the Ukrainian Mirage 2000-5F will be adapted for the use of American high-precision aerial bombs with JDAM kits.
Earlier this summer, President Emmanuel Macron had announced the decision transfer old Mirage-2000s from French Air Force stock to Ukraine. “We are going to start a new form of cooperation and announce the delivery of Mirage 2000-5 fighters from France to Ukraine, which will allow it to defend its territory and its airspace, and therefore from tomorrow we will begin a pilot training program, and then we will ensure the delivery of these aircraft.”
