U.S. Approves $1.42B Radio Equipment Sale to Netherlands

The U.S. State Department has authorized a potential Foreign Military Sale (FMS) to the Netherlands, involving advanced radio equipment and related logistics for an estimated total cost of $1.42 billion.

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) has submitted the necessary certification to Congress regarding this possible transaction.

The Netherlands has requested a range of non-Major Defense Equipment, including AN/PRC-117G, AN/PRC-152A, AN/PRC-160, AN/PRC-163, and AN/PRC-167 radios, along with tactical key loaders, network encryptors, technical assistance, spare parts, and other support elements.

This proposed sale aims to bolster the Netherlands’ military communication capabilities, enhancing interoperability with NATO forces and addressing current and future security threats. The Netherlands will utilize the equipment to improve homeland defense, deter regional threats, and strengthen cooperation in international security efforts.

L3Harris Global Communications, Inc., based in Rochester, NY, has been designated as the principal contractor for this deal.
