The delivery of the Su-57 fighter jet to an international customer will take place later this year, CEO of Rosoboronexport, Alexander Mikheev told Interfax at Aero India 2025 in Bangalore on February 11.
Even as the Su-57 continued to impress audiences at the Aero India with its stunning flying display, the Russian arms exporting agency CEO said it is set to deliver the first stealth jet to an international customer.
Without naming the customer, Mikheev said, "The first foreign customer of the promising fifth-generation multirole fighter Su-57E will start operating this aircraft, which will be supplied by Rosoboronexport, in 2025,"
The announcement of the first international customer was made by Mikheev late last year after the Airshow China where the Su-57 had made its first international air show debut.
There is much speculation that the launch customer could be Algeria though both sides are tightlipped about arms sales between them. A Russian delegation had visited Algeria last much amid reports that a deal had been finalized for the Su-57.
