Polish Deputy Minister Paweł Bejda visited Romania’s national arms company, ROMARM, to discuss defense cooperation, focusing on technology transfer and collaboration between Polish and Romanian defense industries.
Bejda first met Lieutenant General Teodor Incicaş, head of Romania’s General Directorate for Armaments (GDA), to discuss military modernization and the acquisition of military equipment. The meeting highlighted the exchange of experiences in upgrading armed forces and improving defense procurement processes.
The Polish delegation then visited ROMARM to explore technology transfer and industrial collaboration. Talks with the company's management focused on the potential for joint projects between Polish and Romanian defense sectors.
ROMARM specializes in the research, design, manufacturing, and homologation of military products, including armored vehicles, battle tanks, and specialized components for land military vehicles. Its key products include wheeled armored and tactical combat vehicles like the Mowag Piranha V, main battle tanks such as the TR-85M1, infantry fighting vehicles, heavy equipment transporters, mobile bridge systems, and various ammunition types, including fuses, magazines, link belts, and linking devices for different calibers.
At the Uzina Mecanica Bucureşti mechanical plant, Bejda reviewed the production of the Piranha 5 wheeled armored personnel carrier (APC). The site operates under a joint venture with General Dynamics Land Systems, specializing in producing and maintaining armored vehicles.
Bejda’s visit concluded at the ROMAERO aviation technology plant, where the Polish delegation observed aircraft maintenance and repair operations for the Romanian Armed Forces.
